"The Atonement of Christ in the Desert"

It is remarkable to observe the sacrificial system of the Old Covenant. The people were in exile and yet God continually dwelled within their midst (Deut. 23:14).

"Since the LORD your God walks in the midst of your camp to deliver you and to defeat your enemies before you, therefore your camp must be holy; and He must not see anything indecent among you or He will turn away from you."

The picture that is put before the people of Israel is un-mistakable. If anyone be unclean, he or she must go outside of the camp. In order to come back inside the camp, a sacrifice was required. (Hebrews 9:22--And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.)

Can you see the Gospel? Can you see the need to be holy before almighty God? Can you see the need for sacrifice? Can you see the need for Christ?

Jesus is our sacrifice! He is the Lamb of God...our spotless sacrifice that takes away our sins. He has atoned for the sins of God's people. Are you seeking to attain that righteousness in another way? Trust on Christ alone!

If you are interested in learning more about the atonement of Christ, make every effort to attend the Ligonier Conference this Saturday, in Sugar Land Texas.

All praise to the Lamb!
